'Happily Lisa' luncheon

a launch party for the books!
with links to recipes included!! ;)

Let me start by letting ya'll know that I've been meaning to write this post for WEEKS now and have just realized that the delay came from me really wanting to do this event justice. Go figure! Without further ado, I'm sharing all the deets from fellow lifestyle blogger Lisa Breckenridge's website launch party! The setting. The food (omg the food). The group of gals. The hostess. Every last detail was perfection. You'll see what I mean! ;)

A quick backstory first! Lisa might share the title of newbie with me in the blogging space, but make no mistake, she is a pro! Formerly a bomb newscaster, she spent the last 17 years bringing beauty to Good Day LA- and funny enough, did a segment with Bailee when she was just a little peanut! I love when things come full circle like that. ;) Fast-forward to last October, my friend and photog Molly (of Molly + Co) was telling me about this 'super cool chick' she'd been shooting with. I took one look at her site and literally said ' hashtag goals' out loud. So much for my 'quick' backstory! Haha I try!! On to the details and recipes!!

Lisa hosted her party at one of the most breathtaking estates that I have ever set foot in! The home belongs to Lisa's long-time friend, Dana Slatkin, also known as the Beverly Hills Farmgirl (and furthermore know as my most recent girl-crush.. ha!). More on her in a sec! We were lead into a beautiful garden room where we mingled, munched on the most delicious Crabless Cakes made with hearts of palm, and sipped on Blackberry Lavender Champagne cocktails with little stirrers that had "Happily Lisa" etched in them. Details!!!! I die.

After our (much needed for this momma) sip & mingle, we were lead into Dana's kitchen- pictured below. Unbeknownst to me, Dada is a chef who has held private cooking classes in her beautiful french kitchen for years and would spend the next hour or so giving us our own private class.

With a focus on food that tastes just as good as it is for you, Dana and Lisa taught us to make the most delicious salad I've ever tasted in my life- LITTLE GEMS WITH AVOCADO GRAPEFRUIT VINAIGRETTE AND PEPITA CRUMBLE . Salad is not usually something I delight in, necessarily.. lol! But ya'll, much to Jordi's delight, I have made it four times since!! We then made a VEGAN PASTA BOLOGNESE that, dare I say, I enjoyed more than the meaty variety! Last, but most certainly not least, we made Ginger Chocolate Soufflés and went back out to the garden area to enjoy our feast. Icing on the cake: We all left with beautiful recipe cards for each of the dishes we had learned to make. I mean, I can't. Amirite?!

As if this party hadn't already been a dream come true, Lisa then gifted all of us with a beautiful 'Rose Petal Ice Cream' Voluspa candle that I have burnt every. single. day. since! I am a huge fan of Voluspa and Lisa happens to be friends with the owner!! So fun.

Lisa's hostess with the mostess launch party is just a peak in to the awesome-ness that is Happily Lisa. I am thrilled to know her, am so grateful to have been a part of such a special day, and just decided I'm going to beg her to collab with me! lol! (Happily Lisa + That Cozy LIfe.. I dig it! ha!) Excited to see what the future holds for you, girl!! Thank you for letting me be a small part of your story!

Friends, let me know if you want any more specifics! Lisa was lovely about sharing
every detail so we could recreate some of this magic!!
