I have an admission for you. I have never made a baby album. <gasp> I know. Bring on the mom guilt! I'll be honest, my friends, I've started them! I just haven't had the time/patience/ability to kick my perfectionism to actually finish one. I have about a million pictures of the girls to sort through and the mindset that my final creation needs to look like a professional author has published it so #disaster . Up until this point, that is! Insert Mixbook into our family's story. ;)
I have never gone on a site and completed any project, no matter how simple, within minutes. Y'all know me well enough by now to know that I'm the kind of gal who will spend hours on getting the font on my five year old's birthday invite juuussttt right. LOL! Thankfully, Mixbook was NOT that!! From start to finish, this sweet story book took me less time to complete than the episode of Doc McStuffins that the girls were watching! #winning
I chose to make them a personalized book because we love our nighttime family story time routine and I knew this would be the perfect addition to that. 'You Are Every Nice Thing I Can Think Of,' designed by Hello!Lucky, was absolute perfection, as written, from start to finish. Mixbook gives you beautiful options to make the book your own by inserting stickers, adding text, and changing backgrounds, etc. That being said, I loved every single page, as it was, so all I needed to do was add some shots of the girls together! I gave Jordi a page with them, too- the one about cakes and candy- because sweets are their thing with him.. ;)
The look on their sweet little faces as we read this to them for the first time was priceless. In addition to them feeling special, their was an extra little tug at my heart strings when Riley said "This book shows how much I love Evie." Insert waterworks as I realized that it really does capture their little friendship so incredibly well. So "You Are Every Nice Thing I Can Think Of' is my new tradition for them. I can't wait to see what the pictures and words describing what they love will be. ♥
I have a feeling Aunt B's new little addition (Murphy the mini Goldenddodle!) will have his own special page with them. ;)
